Adapting to the ever-changing world
The waste management industry in the UK has undergone many changes in the past decade. Increasing regulation has been introduced with the ultimate aim of reducing the UK's traditional reliance on landfill disposal. Clearwater is at the forefront of meeting these industry challenges, and we're committed to the principle of sustainable waste management.
Clearwater takes care of customer requirements in a professional and timely manner, achieving a balance between efficient and cost-effective waste management and keeping the environment safe.
We believe our strong reputation and commitment to development will lead to us becoming Britain's largest independent waste management provider.
UK-wide operations
The Clearwater Waste Management headquarters in Boden Street, Glasgow, operates a brand new treatment facility, which was one of the first waste treatment sites in the UK to be issued with the new PPC licence.
With offices across the UK, we provide services to the major towns and cities across England and Scotland, such as Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester, London, Nottingham, Newcastle, Derby, Bristol, Leeds and York.
Our history
An entrepreneurial start
1999Clearwater was started nearly 30 years ago by Jim Pitcairn. It started from a Farm steading in Bellshill. The business was built on the back of the steelmaking industry. Clearwater provided Industrial services to their plants at Dalziel, Motherwell and Clydebridge, Cambuslang.
New company registered
2001Clearwater DC 2001 Ltd was finally formed to deliver our refined set of waste management and industrial services. Our new business plan set out to support our staff with further education and skill improvement courses.
Expanding support for further industries
2004Clearwater quickly grew to supply their services to other industries out with steel manufacturing. Investment in our hazardous waste treatment and waste management processing technology earned us the ability to work with the pharmaceutical, petrochemical, power generation and other utilities industries.
Glasgow facilities expansion
2009Having operated out of Pomadie in Glasgow - the old Shell terminus - for 6 years, the ambitions of the company and the volume of work meant that moving forward required a custom-built, licensed, waste management facility which would support the growth over the next decade, at least.
East Midlands business development
2017Supporting the growth of our industrial services to partners in to the far reaches of the United Kingdom, the Clearwater board invested heavily in the team and facilities at Corby. The expansion of the Midlands site supported the steel industry and legislative requirements for carbon management.
Transport hub expansion
2019Investment in Uddingston, North Lanarkshire, provided location for our expanding rigid fleet. The provision of this ideal transport hub meant that our operating times could be reduced and increase efficiency for our customers.
Emergency Enquiries
EmergenciesIn an emergency, Clearwater can respond with a fast, accountable, integrated service which combines site, tank and spillage cleaning, bulk or container decanting and interceptor cleaning.
